Welcome to Shelly’s Garden: Where Dreams Take Root

Hi there, friend!

Welcome to Shelly’s Garden, a little corner of the world where passion for plants, flowers, and growth thrives. My name is Michelle Lipham, but you can call me Shelly. I’m so glad you’re here to share in this journey of cultivating not just gardens, but dreams.

For as long as I can remember, my life has been rooted in soil. Growing up in South Texas, I watched my dad work tirelessly alongside local farmers, delivering the fertilizer that helped fields flourish. My mom, a paraprofessional teacher, spent her days nurturing young minds and her evenings tending to roses and fruit trees that brought our home to life. Surrounded by family gardens, cotton fields, and okra patches, I learned early on how much love and care go into making something grow.

But my real gardening journey began about six or seven years ago. One day, I stumbled across the Garden Answer YouTube channel and watched Laura create stunning landscapes with her hands and heart. It took me back to my childhood—to the time I begged my mom for a small patch of soil to grow vegetables. Despite poor conditions, I managed to harvest a few radishes, and that tiny success planted a seed in me. Life moved on, and I raised my kids while my gardening dreams stayed on the back burner. But watching Laura reignited that spark, and I couldn’t ignore it any longer.

Since then, I’ve poured my heart into creating a garden oasis in my own backyard. It’s been a labor of love—filled with trial and error, endless research, and the pure joy of seeing my efforts blossom. Every new discovery and every bloom built my confidence and fueled my passion. It’s this love for gardening that has inspired me to create Shelly’s Garden, a place where I can share what I’ve learned and help you cultivate your own green haven.

2025 marks a fresh start for me. Like many people, life threw me an unexpected curveball at the end of 2024, and I found myself unemployed. But instead of letting it hold me back, I decided to lean into this dream with both hands. Shelly’s Garden is my leap of faith, a testament to believing in yourself and chasing your passion no matter where life leads.

Some of my blooms this past summer! I can hardly wait for warmer weather and a yard full of flowers!

I’m thrilled to share this journey with you! Shelly’s Garden is more than a business; it’s a community. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or someone who’s never planted a seed, you’re welcome here.
